With our Baseline we mean how high or low our energy level and how strong our resilience is. How high or low our Baseline is defines if we are able in a situation to keep our cool, keep our eye on the target and direct our energy associated with OE towards our own chosen goals and applying the PowerWood DIY Kit or if the emotions run wild and/or the situation escalates and we loose control and have further negative experiences. This means clearing the runway of all unnecessary stressors or irritations is of real importance to have a high Baseline.
Our well-being is hugely influenced by both our Baseline and our access to what we call the PowerWood DIY kit.
The PowerWood DIY Kit is information, practical tools and strategies to apply during an incident in the moment to prevent escalation, calm yourself and others and help strengthening the Baseline.
I wanted to say that I loved the atmosphere at PowerWood; it felt genuinely respectful, and gentle, and that there was a willingness from everyone to ‘meet’ and support each other. To explore together. To me this was sooo wonderful – I live a lot of my life at the moment in our immediate community (where we live, school etc), and I don’t find that level of reflection. It’s like a home-coming – being around people who are self-aware (of their O.E.’s etc) and open also to accepting and exploring those of their children. I also think you offered a really rich, varied and thoughtful and most of all – nourishing – programme of activities.

“I liked the intensity of the consultation. Encouragement not to push our daughter to read. Reminder not to talk about our son in his presence. We came to this as a ‘parenting workshop’, not sure about ‘high able’ with reference to our children, but our children seem to show some characteristics Simone is talking about and it gives another perspective on it.” Father of a son and daughter
PowerWood Project CIC is a not-for-profit Social Enterprise to raise awareness about and to support individuals and families living with intensity, (hyper)sensitivity, ‘super stimulatability’ and (high)ability. The combined traits of intensity, (hyper)sensitivity and ‘super stimulatability’ are often called ‘overexcitability’ in the psychological world.
